Toledo Dedicates New NEOS 360, Courtesy of OSDA, American Beverage Foundation for a Healthy America

Toledo kids have a new opportunity to get moving, thanks to interactive and inclusive playground equipment unveiled in September.

Toledo Mayor Paula Hicks-Hudson, along with area school children, formally accepted the NEOS 360 playground equipment, which is featured at Toledo’s revitalized downtown waterfront. The equipment was made possible by a matching grant from the OSDA and the American Beverage Foundation for a Healthy America.

OSDA’s member companies have a long history in Toledo as strong employers and community supporters. We are proud to give back to the people of Toledo.

“With the Ohio Soft Drink Association grant, Toledo has created another spot in the city where families can gather, play and build memories. With the progress we are making downtown, the re-opening of Promenade Park and increased family activities, the NEOS 360 is a great fit in our downtown core,” the Mayor said.

The NEOS 360 is a challenging electronic playground system that encourages young and old alike to be active. It helps to build motor skills and is ADA compliant. Since September 1, the NEOS 360 has logged more than 5,000 games played. The data will be used to help identify other parks in Toledo that could benefit from similar playground equipment.

OSDA and the ABA also funded the installation of a NEOS 360 at the Columbus Commons in downtown Columbus. These grants are part of our industry’s longstanding commitment to reducing obesity in America.

New Electronic Play System Coming to Toledo’s Downtown Waterfront

Thanks to a gift from Ohio’s non-alcoholic beverage industry, Toledo will soon have a state of the art electronic play system – the NEOS 360.

The NEOS 360 is an interactive play system offering exercise through eight different games at various difficulty levels. Many of these games are competitive and requite teamwork and cooperation.

A presentation ceremony was held on Friday, December 9 with Toledo Mayor Paula – Hicks Hudson, the Ohio Soft Drink Association, members from S.T.R.I.V.E Toledo, Inc. (STRIVE) and others in attendance.
