In a generous display, Coca-Cola Consolidated teamed up with Samaritan’s Feet and Project MKC (formerly Making Kids Count) for an event for the students of Volney Roger’s Elementary School in Youngstown.
The event on December 13, 2023, consisted of providing each of the 315 students at the school with brand-new athletic shoes and socks.
The initiative was enhanced by the participation of Youngstown Mayor Tito Brown and members of his staff, who assisted in the distribution of the shoes.
Founded in 2003 as a 501(c)(3) organization, Samaritan’s Feet International’s goal is to serve ten million people with new shoes by the end of 2023.
Project MKC is a local non-profit based in Boardman, Ohio, and serves children and families in the Mahoning Valley area. Their programs include after-school tutoring, summer food programs, a diaper bank, care bags for foster children, and many others.
This impactful event at Volney Roger’s Elementary School, was made possible through the collaboration among Coca-Cola Consolidated, Samaritan’s Feet, Project MKC, and Youngstown Mayor Tito Brown.
