Nearly 20 Coke Consolidated volunteers pitched in recently with Mill Creek Alliance and Osprey Initiative to clean up Mill Creek near Cincinnati. Volunteers pulled tires, shopping carts and trash from the creek.
Coke Consolidated has partnered with Mill Creek Alliance and Osprey on a broader pilot project, installing three “Litter Gitters” on the creek to capture materials for either recycling or proper disposal.
The Litter Gitter is a small stream litter collection device tethered to the bank by floating booms. The program focuses on collecting recyclable materials from the waterways, gathering data and finding sustainable solutions for the future.
