G&J Pepsi partnered with the Special Olympics of Ohio to sponsor their 2023 Polar Plunge at Crew Stadium in Columbus. The event raised nearly double of their $130,00 goal, ending with a grand total of $220,400. Participants could take their plunge as a part of a team or individually, and forty-two teams plunged as well as 485 individuals. Those who did not want to take the frigid dip could still donate but had to accept the title of “Too Chicken to Plunge.”
G&J Pepsi has worked with the Special Olympics of Ohio in the past. In October of 2022, G&J in partnership with Sheetz donated $15,000 to the organization. The donation was made to help further the Special Olympics’ mission of inclusion and respect for every athlete that they serve. The Polar Plunge is an annual event put on in communities across the country to have participants #freezinforareason.
