Industry Meet & Greet with Mansfield Mayor Jodie Perry

Recently OhioBev organized an industry meet and greet with new Mansfield mayor Jodie Perry. We included member companies serving Mansfield to introduce our industry to the mayor and hear more about her priorities for the city.

Joining the meeting for PepsiCo Beverages North America were Matt Miller and Susan Fairless. Coca-Cola Consolidated representatives included Jeff Oliver and Alexandra Gormley. Rounding out the meeting was Keurig Dr Pepper area manager Jed Hougendobler.

After sharing a laugh about all the fierce competitors gathered in her conference room, Mayor Perry expressed her appreciation for the strong industry presence in the Mansfield area which includes a Pepsi distribution center, and distribution “cross docks” for both Coke Consolidated and Keurig Dr Pepper. Each company briefed Mayor Perry on their local economic impact, including the number of jobs and charitable giving in the area.

With a strong background in economic development and workforce issues, Mayor Perry engaged the group in discussions around maintaining a positive business climate, finding qualified workers for in-demand jobs (including CDL drivers) and how the city can work with the beverage industry to drive progress. She also outlined a few longer-term projects on her wish list including a widening of I-13 to relieve traffic congestion around Mansfield.

The meeting concluded with invitations to tour area beverage facilities, ways to help mentor area youth interested in business and connecting with local career center leadership. Everyone appreciated Mayor Perry’s business expertise and transparency as she navigates her first year in office.
