PepsiCo Beverages North America and Second Harvest Food Bank

PepsiCo Beverages North America (PBNA) recently presented a generous donation to the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley.

The $5,000 contribution to the organization will provide $50,000 in purchasing power for essential food supplies for the pantries. Second Harvest Food Bank supports communities across Mahoning, Trumbull, and Columbiana counties, caring for the nutritional needs of 15,000 to 20,000 individuals every week. The demand for their services is so great that they are currently building an addition to store more food and supplies for their local pantry locations. 

During a visit to the Second Harvest Food Bank facility on December 14, PBNA representatives Keri Forshey from UGM Youngstown Pepsi; Frank Buda, Zone Director of Northeast Ohio; and Susan Fairless, Governmental Affairs, had the opportunity to witness firsthand the day-to-day operations and the pivotal role played by donations in sustaining the food bank's mission. The tour was hosted by Tony Morelli, President of Second Harvest Food Bank; Renee Fuller, Manager of Second Harvest Operations and Bobby Krohn, Sales Manager at Pepsi Youngstown and Board member at Second Harvest.

Through its dedication to the Mahoning Valley community, the food bank is rated as a four-star charity by Charity Navigator, which is the highest rank and indicates the actual impact an organization has on the lives of those it serves.
